I'll Laugh My Whole Way Through the Hurricanes and Fire

So every few weeks, I trawl the pit for HBC fic. And today I found some new ones! Or not new ones, old ones in the wrong category. And yet again I had to bang my head against my desk. I found: two more epic Mary-Sues (why are all the Mary-Sues all about Kyrtian?) and a poorly written crossover with Stargate: SG-1. As fascinating as the idea of the Portal being a Stargate is, um...yeah. Not exactly well executed. Which is disappointing, because it could have been a good fic. Shana and Jack interacting alone would be worth it.

One of the Mary Sues had half the fic in Evelon. And the author apparently thought constructs = robots. Um. No. Steam power type machines powered by magic, rather than steam. Not walking, talking robots.

I was just earlier thinking about HBC crossovers. Since it's established canon that there are various worlds/planets/dimensions/whatever, it's not that hard to do a crossover. I just have little desire to cross if over with anything. Though the idea of Valyn with a Death Note will never cease to amuse me.
