You're Still My Caesar...

I was a lazy bum yesterday. And since the internet was being such a pissy little bitch, I ended up just playing around on Sims and watching Adult Swim. I had a hell of a time getting to sleep last night, and I'm not sure why. I wasn't in very much pain, and I hadn't had much caffeine, but I just lay there thinking strange thoughts and writing that DN/SH fic in my head.

I've become recently very in favor of crossovers. It's a sad thing that they're so rarely done well. I'm still sad that the SG-1/HBC crossover I found was poorly done. It's a good, workable concept. We know so little about the portal/gate, only that it's round and in a cave under the earth, and when you feed power into it it gears up. It's not out of the realm of possibility to say it's a Stargate. And come on - get two dorky, geeky, intelligent characters who are into history and languages and things together in one room and I'm happy. :D

Speaking of, I have done a little on that HP/CM crossover I drabbled for [info]talia_speaks. I don't think it's going to be canon compliant, because it seems to be heading in the direction of Reid/Hermione. Which is adorable and nerdy and awesome.

Hmm, I believe I promised [info]chocomimi an HBC/Ouran crossover. I should work on that, too.

Apparently today is Crossover Babble Day. But hey, at least I'm branching out from just crossing everything over with Lovecraft? ;)

Fic: The Arkham Investigation; Death Note/Lovecraft; NC-17

Hokay. So this fic was originally going to be my [info]all_hallows_fic story. But I just found myself getting frustrated with trying to make it fit my prompt. And I lost half of it and had to rewrite, and I got a better idea for All Hallows. And then once I wasn't dealing with a prompt, I found it came much easier and I liked it a lot better. And now it's done. Thanks so much to [info]nijawial, who gave me help when I needed it and encouraged me and put up with my crazed ramblings. ;)

Title: The Arkham Investigation
Fandom: Death Note/Lovecraft crossover
Pairing: N/A, L and Naomi-centric
Rating: NC-17 for violence, language, disturbing situations and sexual content
Warnings: Violence, gore, disturbing themes
Genre: Action/mystery/horror
Word Count: 9,191
Author's Notes: AU - Naomi Misora left the FBI after the events in 'Another Note' and continued to work for L as his eyes and ears.
Summary: The number of children disappearing in the small coastal town of Arkham was astronomical. Even more disturbing, the town's reluctance to report them. Naomi looked at the investigation as half work, half vacation. She had no idea how deep the depravities of Arkham truly went....

The Truth of Alchemy - Horror - PG-13

Oh holy sweet jeebus. This is my entry for the [info]fmacrossover monthly challenge, and I think I broke my brain on it. I was hit with a sudden inspiration for it, and spent all my free time wrestling with Hohenheim's POV. You don't need to be familiar at all with Lovecraft or the Cthulhu mythos, as I relied heavily on FMA themes and ideas for this. But it is written in the style of Lovecraft's short stories, which is why it's in first person. And Lovecraft fans will recognize phrases/people/themes/artifacts from the mythos. This takes place in 1936, before the events detailed in 'The Dunwich Horror'.

Title: The Truth of Alchemy
Fandom: Fullmetal Alchemist/Lovecraft Mythos
Pairings: N/A
Genre: Horror
Word Count: 4,279
Spoilers: Full series
Warnings: Possibly mangled German, wordiness.
Rating: PG-13
Summary: It began with the discovery of a strange German text in the library at Miskatonic University. From there, Professor Hohenheim Elric embarks upon a journey of unspeakable horror as he delves further into the truth behind the power of Alchemy and seeks a way to return his son home.
